Zack's Question (which he posted to the old blog)

we have talked about many different peoples philosophy, view on life, and also people's opinion of humanity this year... (marx, freud, hobbes, locke, ect. and all the isms.) which one of these things/people/beliefs do you like and agree with most and why?

  1. I don't have a set of ideals that I agree withy the most. My opinions are basically a mix if all the ideals that we studied

  2. the philosophy I've mainly taken from this class is existentialism. It was always something that i sorta believed in, but i was not aware that i did until i learned about it.

  3. I would say that I agree very much with Locke's ideas about human nature. I feel the same as Maddie meaning I did not really realize it until we studied it. I believe in this because of acts such as the liberation of slaves, creation of the UN, and more historical events that lead me to think that human beings are not entirely selfish.

  4. I think Hobbes is actually more right than Locke. Mostly just because I think humans will destroy each other to get whatever they want. I also agree with Maddie how existentialism is interesting (i might note exactly agree with it) but its definitely interesting.

  5. I'm like Alex in the way that I believe in a couple of different ideals. However, I did find Freud's work to be among the most interesting philosophies that we've studied this year.
