Sierva Maria's father's help

Do you think that Sierva Maria thought that her father was trying to help her? if so, do you think she appreciated the help?

  1. I think Sierva MarĂa believes her father is sending her away because he doesn't love her, she thinks that he didn't want to deal with her "sickness"

  2. I feel that Sierva feels as though her father doesn't care about her and is sending her to her death, so he won't have to risk the illness himself.(because he doesn't love her enough to keep her)

  3. I feel as if Sierva Was beginning to connect with her father and really discover that father daughter bond that she never knew. I think she may have still preferred to be living with her alternative slave family, but I think at the end of the day she understood how her father was feeling and appreciated the effort he was putting forth. I think it was because of this bond that formed that caused Sierva to feel so betrayed when he sent her to the convent. It was kind of unexplained and caused all of the happiness that she may have been feeling to perish.

  4. I feel like Sierva Maria was feeling comfortable with her father and when she was sent away to the nuns, it caused her to feel depressed because it seemed as if her father had stopped loving her again and she lost that feeling of adornment from her father. In other words, this seemed like a statement from her father saying that he no longer loved her.

  5. I think that Sierva Maria's father thought that he was helping her and making her death peaceful by sending her to the convent. Sierva was upset that her father was taking her to a place where she would be imprisoned. He basically took away her freedom and she was angry. She would not look back at her father when he was leaving her even though he wished she had.
